In my current office, I develop content to highlight the events and initiatives of our office. The Sense of Belonging Speakers Series was an opportunity to showcase our work to broad audience. Event attendance surpassed expectations.

As the first newsworthy event since the hiring of the VP for Diversity and Inclusion, this collaborative trip was the perfect moment to spotlight our new office and our impact.

I had the opportunity to sit down (virtually) for a roundtable Q&A with members of the Michigan tech LBGTQIA+ community for a piece as a part of the Heritage Blog Series.

This article was the final deliverable I created as part of my science writing internship with Michigan Tech's University Marketing and Communications editorial team. I interviewed a faculty researcher on campus and translated their work and its implications for a popular audience.

Research

As a final component of my participation in the International Research Experience for Students (IRES), I wrote a paper outlining this project as evidence of the positive impacts of communication training as part of a science education curriculum. 

My first experience with formal interaction design, I participated in this group project as part of a human-centered design class at Michigan Tech. My group proposed a piece of wearable assistive technology for low vision and blind children to use on playgrounds. We researched the subject matter and developed this proposal as part of our final class project.

This final paper for my cognitive psychology class was my first solo experience developing a research project proposal. I crafted a proposal to determine the validity of the concept of embodied cognition in psychology.
